7 Steps To Positive Self Talk

Attraction Marketing No Comments »

This guest post was written by Evelyn Lim of Attraction Mind Map.

As published on “Pick The Brain”

July 15th, 2008 by Evelyn Lim

Most of us are in constant mental chatter. We talk to ourselves all day long and, unfortunately, this self talk is frequently negative. Often it is tainted with guilt about our past or anxiety about our future. This negativity can destroy any seed of hope that we may otherwise have in striving for our dreams.

Our actions are inspired by our thoughts. If we can change the way we think, we can begin to change the actions we take. It is human nature to seek personal growth; whether financially, emotionally, physically or spiritually. Practicing positive self talk can help us set in motion actions that will bring us greater rewards.

The following are seven steps to positive self talk. By following these steps you will begin to rid your inner conversations of negativity and instead have empowering thoughts.

1. Eliminate Internal Negative Chatter

The first step is one of awareness. It will be hard to make a change to positive thinking without being acutely intimate with the thoughts that run through your mind. Recently, I was amazed to discover deep buried emotions from negative thoughts that I had for fewer than 10 minutes. Without awareness, I would have carried the hurt and anger inside. Awareness helped me to bring them out to the open for me to deal with.

Undoubtedly it will not be easy to make a switch if you have a long history or negative self talk. Your talk became negative over the years due to various factors. For instance, if your first grade teacher repeatedly told you that you were “stupid”, you might believe it to be truly the case. You would find that your inner chatter would often be filled with talk of “I am so slow” and “it is so hard to learn”. If you constantly tell yourself such negative stories, your actions are going to reflect your low self esteem. It will be difficult to get very far if you are always putting yourself down.

A common negative talk involves telling yourself “I can’t”. When you say to yourself “I can’t” or “it is too difficult”, you are creating a resistance. Having such a mental block will prevent you from achieving a task you could otherwise succeed at.

Anytime you catch yourself saying “I can’t…”, turn around and challenge your own claim with, “Why can’t I?” Research shows that most geniuses became the people they are also because of the hard work they put in. So if you would like to be successful, you need to start saying “I can” a lot more.

A great method that I have also found useful is to say “Cancel Cancel” each time I find myself saying something negative, whether in the mind or verbally. The method works if you sincerely have the intent of becoming a positive thinker.

2. Positive Affirmations

Affirmations are positive statements of a desired outcome or goal. They are usually short, believable and focused. By repeating them over and over again, you build inroads into your subconscious mind, opening up the possibility of a new state of thoughts.

An important step when repeating affirmations is that you need to read your affirmations aloud with feeling. The mere reading of the words bears no consequence unless you put some emotions behind them. Of significant fact is that your subconscious mind takes any orders given in complete faith and after repeated self talk. So the daily practice of repeating affirmations is important.

Initially you may be skepticism toward the statement of your positive affirmation. However, if you follow this simple set of instructions your skepticism will soon give way to a new set of beliefs and then crystallized into absolute faith.

3. Positive Scripts

One thing that you may observe is on how easy it is for your mind to build negative thought upon negative thought. The chatter not only does not stop but it spins a drama that traps and limits you.

From now on, regularly do this exercise instead. Spin an uplifting story that runs like a movie script. Some visualization will be helpful. You build on a story with a positive outline. The longer you can tell this story to yourself the better. It is also best if you can make this story one about having all your goals achieved. When you do this, you start to internalize your goals and dreams, as if they are something that you have already achieved.

4. Replace Negative Influences with Positive Ones

It is important that you identify external negative factors in your life which may be holding your thoughts hostage. For instance, your mental state can become toxic by being around friends who are negative. If you are not vigilant enough, you will start to adopt their thoughts as your own. Hence, be alert to what your negative influences are. If they come from certain friends, limit your exposure to them as much as you can. Refrain from discussing your plans with people who will be unsupportive of your dreams and goals.

Instead surround yourself with thoughts and actions from people who will empower you.
From being uninspired and de-motivated, you will begin to feel uplifted and driven to greater self growth. The positive energy that they vibrate will start affecting the self talk that you engage in as well.

5. Present Tense Messages

You may find yourself daunted by the many things you need to do in order to reach your goals. It just seems overwhelming to become the success that you secretly desire for. Your mind gets caught up in an endless stream of worry.

What may be helpful is to concentrate on steps you can take in the present. If you find yourself becoming stuck, stop and say, “What can I do right now?” Change your internal talk from a future anxiety ridden one to one that is about the more manageable present. You cannot control what will happen in the future but you can take the necessary steps now that will build a better tomorrow. Taking the necessary steps require you to focus your thoughts and inner talk on Now.

6. Confront Fears

Fear is often what holds you back from your success. You are scared of taking chances because you fear losing the security that you enjoy now. You try to convince yourself that you are happy in your current state when in fact, you are not. Your self talk may sound positive in your attempt to lie to yourself. But somehow, there is an inner knowing that you are short changing yourself.

Ask yourself what you are afraid of. What can be the worst that can happen? Take a step-by-step approach in breaking down your fears and see if there is any way round to looking at things more positively. When you confront your fears, you will often realize that the worst case scenario is not as bad as you think. In fact, the benefits of change are worth the risk. Your inner talk begins to change at this point.

7. Focus on Enjoyable Moments

It is much easier to have a positive attitude if you focus on the enjoyable moments in life rather than the difficult ones. While there will inevitably be challenges, you need to remember that life consists of ups and downs and the good times are forged through the bad.

So choose to fill your mind with positive images and thoughts. Make it a conscious habit. Simply bring your mind back every time it goes astray in its thoughts. For a start, if you can be grateful for what you have presently, your self talk will also change to be in alignment with one of joy. A state of gratitude does wonders to your psyche.

Conclusion

Replacing self talk from a negative to a more positive one is not going to happen overnight. If your mind has ingrained habits of thinking negatively, it will take some work and time. However, if you find yourself often struggling, unable to achieve your goals and talking yourself down, then you should grit your teeth and commit to the process of change.

By following the above tips to positive self talk, you will experience an improvement in the quality of your life. The rewards are plentiful with greater happiness, peace and joy. Best of all, you feel empowered. With the change in energy, you are more likely to reach your highest potential and achieve success.

Traffic Exchanges Work, Once You Learn How

Marketing General, Getting Started No Comments »
  • What is a traffic exchange?

A traffic exchange is a membership site designed to share traffic and expose your website to a targeted audience.

  • How does a traffic exchange work?

Most traffic exchanges are free to join. Once you a member you can ’surf’ for credits or purchase them on the site. If you do not want to purchase credits, then you MUST surf on the site in order to earn credits and get exposure to your website.

When you have credits in your account, your website is the put into the surf rotation and visited by other members of the site. In some instances credit allocation is automatic, and on other sites you have to allocate the credits once earned.

You get to choose the sites you want put in the rotation. Once your site is approved you can then allocate a relevant category to the appropriate viewing audience.

Why Use Traffic Exchanges?

Consider the following desires that ALL traffic exchange users have.

Ever surfer wants one or more of these three essential things;

  • To Get More Traffic
  • To Build A List
  • To Make Money

If any of these desires, form part of the attributes of your target market, then you can successfully use traffic exchanges just like me.

From my own experience, I have learnt to use traffic exchanges to build my personal email marketing list using simple and enticing lead capture pages. The page always offers a free ebook or important information on marketing strategies to entice people to opt-into my funnel.

  • The Best Way To Get The Most Credits!

Sometimes I purchase credits, and then compliment that by spending 10 minutes a day surfing on a few selected exchanges that get results. (you will find a list of these at the bottom of this post)

By far, the most effective way to earn free credits is to build a down-line on the traffic exchange sites themselves. Whilst this may not seam like an effective way to build your main business in the short term, I look at the bigger picture. If you plan to succeed and plan to be in the online marketing game for the long haul, spending some time building down-lines and hence getting FREE ADVERTISING can only be good for business.

  • How To Successfully Use Traffic Exchanges

Using traffic exchanges properly is really quite simple.

Once you have set up a fast loading and enticing lead capture page that connects to your list building sales funnel, you are ready to hit the traffic exchanges.

Social Networking That Pays

Marketing General No Comments »

Invitation only option to join this up and coming social network. While in the beta stage, the only way to join this site is via member invite.

With a tricky name and a bucket load of user interactive features, ZenZuu.com has the signs of a successful social networking website.

Some options to network, socialize and promote on ZenZuu

  • Write a blog
  • Join groups of interest
  • Create events
  • Make friends with like minded people
  • Upload images
  • Upload music
  • Upload videos
  • Post bulletins
  • Post classifieds

As you can see from some of the benefits listed above, in many ways ZenZuu is just like every other online social networking site. I have found ZenZuu.com to be an active site of home business owners and opportunity seekers.

Many of the members are MLM’ers who are attracted to the ZenZuu MLM compensation payment plan.

Generally speaking I do not promote MLM as an online business opportunity, and in this case I certainly maintain my stance. While MLM can be an attractive way to suppliment an online income I do not consider it a viable long term way of making money online.

Use this site to make contacts, generate targetted traffic to your website, brand yourself and socialize. Do not focus on using ZenZuu as your main source of income.

A Global Resorts Network Affiliate Marketing Review

Global Resorts Network, Reviews 1 Comment »

My internet marketing journey began in 2007 with affiliate marketing of PLR products and promoting MLM opportunities. Whilst I enjoyed being a network marketer and running an online business, I soon realised that the MLM compensation plan wasn’t for me.

While I really liked affiliate marketing, I wanted to get paid even when I didn’t sell anything personally. Without creating my own product that other people could sell for me, I couldn’t see how that was possible.

While I was happy to work hard in order to get paid, I didn’t want to work hard all the time. There had to be a way of using affiliate marketing and strategic network marketing in such a way, where I could put in effort today that would pay me in returns for months or even years to come.

Having tried many marketing systems and products online by this time, I knew that I had some hard work to do even finding such an opportunity. There are so many systems out there that make all the promises in the world and while some of them deliver – many don’t….and the ongoing expenses as a cost to your online affiliate marketing business can mean the difference between success and failure.

You see, I wanted to find a business that enabled me to earn large commissions up front, plus a residual income component without having ongoing membership fees/costs. I am also a fan of strategic marketing as it suits my skills and personality. The answer to my problems presented itself in the form of the Global Resorts Network.

GRN is an independent affiliate marketing opportunity, and as such means you can run your own business from home selling memberships. Commissions paid to you for qualified sales are between $500 - $1k per sale. Running an online business and using strategic network marketing techniques is a real possibility with the Global Resorts Network.

Commissions are paid to members on a weekly basis which means there is no long waiting periods between a sale happening and when you get paid.

The cost for joining the Global Resorts Network, vary depending on your choice of membership level. You can get started as an affiliate marketer with GRN for as little as a couple of hundred dollars….right up to $3100. For more information on Global Resorts Network membership levels, go here.

Watch a short presentation here to find out more about the Global Resorts Network opportunity.

I hope you enjoy the movie. If you are interested in learning more about travel destinations with GRN, visit my Luxury Travel World Blog. Go to; Luxury Travel World

Have a great day!

Bad News About Ad Surf Daily

Home Based Business No Comments »

As I write this blog post, the situation regarding the temporary shutdown of Ad Surf Daily | ASD by US officials remains unresolved. Almost a month after trading halted and there is little good news on the horizon. But in saying that, the future for this company is not decided, so it is not all bad news about Ad Surf Daily.

As I have had to remove some promotions and update websites as a result of this, I thought I timely to write a blog post on how I’ve structured my business so it’s protected from potential losses of income in situations such as the current one with ASD. I call it my ‘plug and play’ system.

I dare say that it is not a new idea! Without a doubt some so called guru out there has written books about it, so while I do not claim ownership of the idea, I think it makes good business sense and can say I do it and it works. Regardless of what happens with ASD or Ad Surf Daily my promotional efforts and search engine listings for this program will not go to waste in the meantime!

I will do my best to briefly explain how a smart plug and play business structure works and protecting your income and how simple it is to get started.

What is the methodology of a ‘plug and play’ business structure?

Have you ever been involved with a company that closed down ? Perhaps the management made a mistake and did something illegal or maybe the program was a little too ‘flash in the pan’ and the sizzle died? Whatever the reason – as an affiliate marketer, network marketer or MLM you need to be aware that these types of things can and will happen.

My Tips

  • Purchase a main domain name that is specific to you. It may be a branded domain, such as your name, or niche related for example – tartansocks.com
  • Use that main URL for your business promotions. Create sub domain’s for advertising and marketing campaigns that forward to your specific lead capture pages and affiliate id’s.
  • Using this method also has some other benefits. When you create sub domains that frame redirect, your domain name remains intact on the browser address bar. This sends a very professional message to your customers and surfers. Plus, it also serves as a link cloaker and effective ad tracking system.

So why does this work?

This way the advertising, linking, networking, articles, blogging that you do will always be sending traffic that points back to something YOU are involved in and promoting. Imagine what it would be like having to go into every account your have and update or remove systems that you want to stop promoting? Impossible task! Most people wouldn’t even both trying – I know I wouldn’t.

It’s is relatively simple to update a couple of websites in comparison and never miss out on traffic you’ve generated ever again.

Examples

Business portfolio style website

www.TravelCashSystem.com

I have structured this website up as a series of lead capture and information pages all using a personalized lead capture page system and sub domains that frame redirect.

Another place where you can easily create a simple personalized business page is on MySpace. Check mine out for a couple of ideas.

www.myspace.com/myspace_entrepreneurs

Take a little bit of time now to set things up for longevity and long term simplicity and you will reap the rewards.

All the best,

How To Write A Press Release In 6 Simple Steps

Marketing General 1 Comment »

How To Create A Press Release In 6 Simple Steps

Ok, here ’s the deal with all your online marketing efforts…unless you get your content listed in the search engines it may as well NOT be there. Unlisted content is your enemy so aim to ensure that ALL the content you create is crawled by the search engines and indesed. This is also true of your press release writing. This post will teach you “How To Write A Press Release” and “How To Get Your Press Releases Indexed“.

There are few ways to get your press releases into the search engines and this directly correlates to the template you should use to construct your press release.

1. Make sure you write an editorial. This is not a sales pitch.

2. Use Long Tail Keywords. They are very effective and it is basically a long phrase but you have less competition than the more traditional keywords for your niche.

3. Make sure your keywords are in the headline, first paragraph and second paragraph of the press release.

4. Place a link to your main website or lead capture page. If you have a personal website make it known in the press release in the section about yourself. Even use your MySpace profile page if you have one. It creates backlinking….more on backlinking at the end of this post.

5. Proof read it and then submit it to public relations online services. Generally I find if I sleep on it and wait until the next day I pick up more mistakes and tweak the release a little more.

6. If you have a blog, link from your blog to press release (after it’s published of course). Write a couple of posts that directly relate to the information and include the long tail keywords that you used in your press release in the headline and body of your posts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Basic Elements Of Writing A Good Press Release
Title
Subhead
Body
Keywords
Contact Information - Business and Company Contact Details
press-release.jpg
TITLE
Your title should be keyword rich. Try for the first 5 words to be your keywords you want the press release optimized for. Do some keyword research, to see what people in your niche are most looking for and also buying.
Use good copywriting headlines that you have used in the past, and modify them to fit your situation. Many great long copy style “direct response” sales letters have wonderful titles and headlines which you can modify and borrow.
SUBHEAD
Your subhead should also be keyword rich, repeating some of the main keywords found in the title, but telling a little more info in 2-3 sentences. This is where you summarize what your PR is going to talk about.
BODY
Your body must contain a great story, which makes readers want to read it. It can be short or long, but add relevant keywords and keyword phrases to it which will help optimization. You might want to have your keyword or key phrases
mentioned 4-7 times in your release.
The length of your release should be 100-500 words. Some services take more words than that, but if you can do a power punched release with all the goods in it and make the media take notice, do make it short.
Include the basics in your body which one would find in everyday newspaper articles. Here are a few idea’s…
Who
What
When
Where
Why
How
Tell a story and speak to the news media, don’t sell to them. Don’t make your press release, “Press Release Spam or PRSpam.” Don’t make it an ad and try to sell the product or service in your release. The idea is to make them curious, and want to go to your sites, find out more, where you can collect a lead or make a sale there.
Don’t use words like “You can m’ake money”. Use words like “One can m’ake money…” Speaking in the right “person” makes it legit. Watch how you use, “I said, you said, or he/she said.”
Also ad your website URL in the body if you can, and only if it is relevant.
KEYWORDS
Usually you can select 5-10 keywords, depending on which services you are using, which are the ones you used in your press release content, which helps get you listed for them with Search Engine Optimization, and that will bring you targeted niche traffic.
CONTACT INFO
Your Contact info should be a website. Also include a phone number and company name.
** Read This **
Some companies require approval before press releases can be distributed so be sure you know the terms of your membership before doing press release marketing.
More Press Release Writing HOT Tips
Do a search for keywords similar to yours. Do some reading and homework. Disect how others have written their releases to get more of an idea how to write yours. Most PR sites have a search box, which you can type in your keywords and search the results and writing styles of similar press releases in your niche.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Where do you submit press releases? Press Release Distribtution

Just simply do an online search.

Here is a list of recommended press releases sources - not all are free

1. www.prweb.com

2. www.i-newswire.com

3. www.1888pressrelease.com

4. www.free-press-release.com

5. www.emediawire.com

This is also a great link for info from PR Web for more details

Free Directories

Supercharge Your Press Release Marketing

Take that release and submit them to free press release sites (listed above) Each site will have terms and guidelines, so just read those to find out the requirements as to registration etc…

Once the release is published and live online….

Write a couple of articles and submit them to article directories. Include a link in your article resource box back to your published press release and website.

Write some blog posts that link to your website, articles and press releases. Why does this work? It’s called back linking and power linking. Don’t worry - you don’t need to understand how this linking system works…..it works. Just be sure to use the same keywords to optimize your articles, blog posts and press realeases. The press release links to the main website. The articles and blogs link to the website and the press release. It’s that simple.

Have a blessed day.

How Writing Press Releases Will Improve Your Website Traffic

Marketing General 2 Comments »

press-release-writing-how.jpgThe one thing all website owners and online business owners must learn to do is generate quality traffic. Press release writing is a great way of contributing to an increase to site traffic.

Whether you are promoting a product, network marketing, MLM or other opportunity, your business can benefit from writing a good press release plan. This post will cover why press releases work at promoting an internet business, plus give some tips for creating your press release marketing plan.

Press release writing is easy once you learn how. Plus it’s a fast and FREE way of promoting almost any product or opportunity. I don’t know about you, but I love free, and whilst not all press release networks publish and distribute at no cost…there are many that do.

Of course there are advantages in aquiring a professional press release service. One of the benefits is the service will distribute your release to a wider audience.

Writing and publishing press releases brands you an expert, and authority in your niche, and also gives exposure to your website domain name. Linking published press releases, to your articles, blog and websites also creates a powerful back linking structure for your nominated keywords…but more on that in the next post.

Another great thing about press releases is they get your URL’s listed all over the search engines IMMEDIATELY. Yes, Immediately. No waiting 1-3 weeks or even 6 months for some submission services. Your releases will get indexed within 24 hours. Period.

When is the Best Time To Submit a Release?

If your press release strategy involves possible publication in newspapers or magazines, try and submit on Thursdays or Fridays depending on how long it takes for the site to turn around the request.

If your main aim for writing press releases is website traffic, then it really does not matter when you submit your press release.

In the next post you will learn exactly how to write a press release, plus how to apply this web marketing strategy to YOUR business. There will also be a section dedicated to “How To Supercharge Your Press Release Marketing” at the end of the next post. It will touch on issues such as powerlinking and bookmarking in relation to press release marketing. It’s good stuff : )

I hope your having a great weekend.

Marketing General 2 Comments »

Article marketing is no big secret. For many years companies have been using articles to promote and brand their business online and in the online media. In the current online market, nothing has changed. Quality articles are a must to showcase your talent and your home business to the online community. So what does article marketing mean and why does it work?

network-marketing.jpg

Article marketing put simply, is advertising your knowledge about your business across the internet (or any other media for that matter with the power of viral of the internet and web 2.0) Just one of the benefits is that the world comes to know about you or your business.

If you were to search any article directory online, you will see a selection of content across a wide diversity of subjects. Any business or individual can write and then distribute content in the form of articles freely over the internet or other media via these online directories.

Article marketing websites or article directories, are a great place for you to market your articles. These websites arrange the articles by category and often by business type so that your articles are easily searchable for listing on search engines.

Internet marketing articles for home business operators are one of the quickest and cheapest ways to brand your business and get noticed in your niche. By far the most respected article directory online is EzineArticles.com

It goes without saying, that, only original articles should be submitted to article directories. While it is perfectly ok to write about topics that others also write about, be sure that any contributions you make are 100% original. In general article marketing is also done in order to increase the search engine optimization of your site but today they are even more essential for your network marketing business. This is because the articles you write should contain important keywords applicable to your business to drive traffic and brand you as knowledgeable

What Happened To ASD, Is It A Scam?

Home Based Business, Reviews 1 Comment »

In short….no body other than those involved really know the full details.

Here is what I do know is true…..there has been a complaint made against the company which the US Attorney’s Office in the District of Colombia is investigating. As a standard operating procedure and terms of the investigation the company has had to cease trading

.asd_image.jpg

Image courtesy of www.asdcashgenerator.com

Here is the official website for ASD;

http://www.asdcashgenerator.com/index.php

A colleague of mine informs me that the company is responding appropriately to all requests for information and assistance from the US AO in conjunction with legal advice with a hope to having a speedy resolution to the investigation.

Here is what I am doing….I for one am going to wait it out and am choosing NOT to jump ship!

What if the company is a scam and just taking us for a ride? Well, I think not, but if they are…then I am confident that fair resolution will be found. ASD was not built as a scam to rip people off, but rather on opportunity to share profits with members, so if they have done anything illegal….doubt it was intentional…

What if they are cleared of the charges? WOW what a day that would be & position ASD will be in (and you too if you choose to wait it out)…..to just grow ahead in leaps and bounds. They would have a green light as a legitimate and legal company able to do business around the world….

Until the full facts are revealed about the ASD | Ad Surf Daily | ASD Cash Generator whatever you know it as, the future remains to be seen.

Make it a great day!

For the past couple of months I’ve been a member of Ad Surf Daily or ASD Cash Generator and using it to promote my business and build a list. I made the choice to include this program into my business portfolio for a couple of reasons, but mostly as it offered a low cost way for people to join me in business and have access to my team training and support.

Most of the programs I’ve choosen to join are much more traditional than ASD Cash Generator so I have to say it was a little bit of a risk adding this fast growing program to my portfolio. I bought a domain www.asdcashgeneratorpro.com, and set to work building a website to promote this system.

ASD Cash Generator gives you the opportunity to earn money 4 different ways. You do NOT need to recruit other affiliates or sponsor people to make big money with AdSurfDaily.

You can make money by generating traffic to your site and converting sales.

You can earn money daily from the compounding daily rebates that are paid out to advertisers. The company pays out up to 125% rebates on advertising purchases.

You can also earn money by promoting the system to other website owners and advertisers and telling them about how to advertise their business FREE. Business owners and web site owners can purchase ads and get rebates up to 100% of their ad cost. They can also earn
an additional 25%.

By referring other advertisers through your affiliate link, you are paid 5% up to 10% commission on all ad sales, banner ad sales and ebook sales you make personally. You are paid 3% up to 5% commission on all ad sales and ebook sales made by the advertisers you recommend.

There are also promotions the company conducts which deliver matching advertising purchases as high as 50% of the volume of advertising your referrals make.

A very powerful part of these promotions is that most times you also generate a 25% - 50% matching bonus on advertising purchases from the advertisers your direct referrals bring in (level 2). Most people that analyze this realize just how powerful this aspect can be to your own power of compounding rebates.

Are There Any Other Income Producing Facts To Consider?

Yes. This program can be VERY lucrative for people that understand how the compensation plan and the daily rebates work.

An advertiser may pay a monthly membership fee and reduce the cash out fees, increase referral commissions and decrease the number of sites to view on a daily basis.

The amount of your monthly membership fee determines the number of times you can cash out each week, the amount of your referral commissions and the number of sites you must view each day to receive your rebates.

If you do not pay a membership fee you will be paid a 3% referral commission on all of your personal sales only.

When you pay a $10 per month memmership fee you earn a 5% referral commission on your personal sales and 3% on your second level sales. When you pay a $25 per month membership fee you earn a 7% referral commission on your personal sales and 4% on your second level sales. When you pay a $100 per month membership fee you earn a 10% referral
commission on your personal sales and 5% on your second level sales.

This can mean a tremendous amount of income to you and you decide which is right for you.

You will find a ton of information, facts and more on my ASD site here. Read this first!

Promoting RSS Feeds Even When You Do Not Have A Blog!

Marketing General No Comments »

The use of RSS syndication and pinging services is not restricted to blogs alone anymore.

Here is what you do need to know about RSS….

1. If a site displays a RSS feed image then it is being syndicated with RSS rss.gif

2. RSS is a function being used by millions of internet users and webmaster everyday to share content on specific topics.

3. By pinging your RSS feeds and submitting them to RSS directories, the content that you are contributing online will be spread further and have a larger audience.

Just a few places that you may have content which can be promoted using RSS feeds.

*Articles

*HubPages

Take the feed url for my marketing advice on HubPages…

Eg my feed for HubPages – Author ‘The How To Hub’ –

http://hubpages.com/profile/The+How+To+Hub

Not only can you use the source feed for pinging – but you can also place widgets on your websites and social profiles to get passive traffic that way also. If you’d want to check you’ve got the right RSS feed address go to;

http://www.feedvalidator.org

Now you simply take that feed url and ‘ping it’

A pinging service is just a content distribution network that will boost your feed online.

http://pingomatic.com/

This service will ask you for your blog name and other relevant details. You can submit any RSS feed here so don’t worry that it’s not a blog.

Then your done.

Simple strategies work well and once you get the hang of this you will just love how easy it is.

Have a great day

Tips For Growing Your MySpace Network Fast

Marketing Tips 1 Comment »

Here are some easy steps that you can implement to help grow you MySpace network.

1. Use Comments

If someone accepts your offer of friendship, (or you accept theirs) take the time to visit their profile and leave a thoughtful comment. The aim here is to leave a post for others to find. If they notice your comment and like what you have to say, you’ll find people will find you. Hit - Don’t just post a comment like “hey check out my website at …..” make it thoughtful and be positive. If appropriate, post an image or flashing graphic that will catch peoples attention. Always place a link back to your main website/blog/ lead capture page and even generate traffic this way.

2. Have Influential Friends

MySpace Networking

This one is just a matter of rubbing shoulders with the right people. Join popular profiles and network with the influential people in your niche. You will find there are plenty of other people with the time to search through friends lists and find new friends this way. This is also a good way of people getting to know you more. They think, “oh, she liked that motivational speaker too” and you instantly have something in common. Like attracts like and you will find friends requests will come from these simple actions. Choose to spend the time you dedicate to making friendship requests to network with influential personalities.

**Let other people who have similar interests come to you rather than you having to spend the time looking for them.

While you can use friend finder software to search and request friendship - I prefer to stay away from these. My MySpace profile and network took me along time to foster, so the last thing I want is to be accused of spamming and have my account deleted.

Overall, I’ve found. a less time consuming strategy is the most efficient way of growing a network while branding myself on the wider MySpace community.
